Market capitalization of four top Sensex companies reduced by Rs 55,682 crore.
The market
capitalization (market cap) of four of the top ten Sensex companies declined by
Rs 55,681.8 crore last week.
Tata Consultancy
Services (TCS) and Hindustan Unilever (HUL) suffered the most. Apart from
these, the market capitalization of Reliance Industries Limited and ITC has
also decreased during this period. The market capitalization of ICICI Bank,
HDFC Limited, HDFC Bank, Infosys, Kotak Mahindra Bank and State Bank of India
(SBI) increased. However, the total market capitalization of all these
companies increased by Rs 54,875.04 crore, lower than the loss of the remaining
four.
TCS saw the biggest
drop in market valuation. Its market capitalization declined by Rs 26,900.6
crore to Rs 6,22,401.90 crore.
Hindustan Unilever's
market capitalization declined by Rs 20,230.2 crore to Rs 4,51,633.92 crore.
Reliance Industries' market capitalization
fell by Rs 7,383.37 crore to Rs 9,16,230.34 crore and ITC's market valuation
declined by Rs 1,013.61 crore to Rs 3,20,032.38 crore.
At the same time,
ICICI Bank's market valuation increased the most among the profitable
companies. The market capitalization of the bank increased by Rs 17,760.52
crore to Rs 3,16,295.56 crore, followed by HDFC Ltd's market capitalization by
Rs 17,594.97 crore, by Rs 3,85,129.55 crore, HDFC Bank by Rs 7,854.78 crore, by
Rs 6,86,786.97 crore, by Infosys 5,747.24. Crores increased by Rs. 3,04,282,28
crores, Kotak Mahindra Bank increased by Rs 3,820.24 crore to Rs 3,05,657.59
crore and State Bank of India increased by Rs 2,097.29 crore to Rs 2,81,883.86
crore.
Reliance Industries
topped in terms of market capitalization. It was followed by TCS, HDFC Bank,
Hindustan Unilever, HDFC, ITC, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Infosys and SBI
respectively. The 30-share Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange gained 158.58
points or 0.39 percent in the previous week.
