The stock market closed on Monday on the first day of the week. The Sensex gained 21.47 points to close at 40,345.08 and the Nifty gained 5.30 points to 11,913.45. Business started this morning on the red mark with a fall.

The domestic stock market continued its ups and downs during the early hours of trading on Monday due to weak trading trends. Right now, the Sensex is down 111 points to 40,212.38 and the Nifty is trading at 11,871.20, dropping 37 points.

The Sensex was down by 8.77 points to settle at 40,314.84 at 9.55 am while the Nifty slipped 5.60 points to settle at 11,902.55.

The stock market closed on the red mark with a fall on Friday. The Sensex lost 330 points to close at 40,323.61 and the Nifty closed at 11,907.50, down by 104.55 points. The Sensex lost nearly 150 points in early trade on Friday after closing at record highs in the previous session and the Nifty also slipped below 12,000.
