Internet can be a big burden on the pocket; the Department of Telecommunications is preparing to increase the tariff.

Your mobile bill may increase in the coming days. The tariff may be increased for this. In fact, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has estimated that if the tariff is increased by 10 percent, the telecom companies will earn an additional Rs 35 thousand crore in the next three years. This will help companies improve their financial condition.

The final decision is to take the telecom regulator.
ET report quoting DoT officials said that the telecom regulator has to take the final decision on the hike in tariff. For this, DOT will provide its data to the regulator. The DOT estimates are based on average revenue per user (ARPU), which currently stands at Rs 120-130. The DOT official says that if we increase the ARPU by 10 per cent, or about Rs 11, then it will come close to Rs 141. With this, companies will earn Rs 11 thousand crore annually and in three years they will earn an additional Rs 33 thousand crore.

Data can be increased in price.
Officials say that data consumption has increased in recent times. Therefore, by increasing the price of telecom industry data by Rs 10 per GB, you can earn an additional amount of at least 35 thousand crores in 3 years. According to TRAI data, data prices have fallen by 95 percent in the last three years. Today the data is available at Rs 11.78 per GB as against Rs 226 per GB in 2015.

Government is considering after the decision of the Supreme Court.
Recently, the Supreme Court has ordered telecom companies to pay Rs 1.3 lakh crore to the government. After this order of the Supreme Court, financial crisis has arisen in front of the telecom companies. The government is considering several issues to get the telecom companies out of this crisis. A committee of secretaries is working on finding a way to get the telecom sector out of this crisis.
