World's Safest Car Volvo XC40 T4 R-Design Car Launched in India.
New Delhi: Swedish luxury car manufacturer Volvo Cars on Friday launched the
XC40 T4 R-Design SUV in India. Its price is 39.9 lakh rupees (x showroom). This
car belongs to Volvo's XC40 series, which is considered to be the safest car in
the world. It has received a full 5 points in the European New Car Assessment
Program. Euro NCAP also did a crash test on the mid-size SUV XC60 in 2017,
during which time it was also awarded the Safest Car of 2017.
Engine and power
The car will be available
in BS6 certified 2 liter, four cylinder petrol variants in India, which will
generate power of 192PS and torque of 300 newton meters. The car will come with
an 8 speed gearonic gearbox. Along with this, the car will be based on the
company's Compact Modular Architecture (CMA). It will be the company's first
petrol-based entry-level SUV.
Safety features
As safety features in the
car, features such as radar based active safety feature, distance alert, driver
alert, run off road protection will be available. Apart from this, there will
be 7 airbags in the car. The company claims that Volvo is the first car company
to offer radar-based active features. This feature will be activated when the
car is over 50 kmph and will protect the car from collision with other cars,
pedestrians, bicycles and animals. Also, vehicles coming from other lanes on
the highway will run a distance.
